Aren’t leverage and debt the same thing? Overall they are the same thing but one is good for you and one is bad for you.
Every single billionaire you know owes money. How? They utilize debt as leverage to make more money and buy more things, which makes them even more money. You can see billions of dollars in debt on Apple's or Facebook's (Meta's) balance sheets.
The key to separating leverage from debt is that leverage acts as fuel leveraging your money to buy more versus debt is when you borrow money to buy stuff you don’t need or that doesn’t make you any money.
The rich receive a variety of loan packages from banks that allow them to generate more money, but the rest of the population receives credit cards with high-interest loans such as 25%. They claim that you can obtain a variety of discounts and percentages, which can lead to consumer debt. Consumer debt is something you should definitely avoid.
For business debt, there are terms like DSCR (debt service coverage ratio), which means that the bank will only lend you money if they know you are making money and 25% so you can pay them back and thus borrow more money to buy more stuff.
It’s an avalanche of wealth-building versus an avalanche of financial destruction.
