What happened? Well, inflation. It's up more than 7.5% this year.

So, in America, we're dealing with high inflation and a supply-chain crisis. So, how did this come to be? Well, monetary policy and Covid shutdowns have a lot to do with it. Shutdowns and abrupt reopenings have caused shortages all around the world.

As a result, a Chinese closure might hinder your ability to get a variety of goods in the United States. That's what they're calling this the supply chain crisis. Try getting a venti coffee cup right now, for example. You might not be able to find one, and even if you do, the venti coffee will cost a lot more than it did last year.

A big part of this crisis is inflation and it's caused by so many different factors that it's hard to sum up in this video. But in the end, people have more cash because they've been sitting around for a year and also the government handed out money like candy to a lot of households.

So, in the end, you have a lot of money chasing fewer commodities, which leads to increased prices, or inflation, as we call it in economics.

And there is a means to stop it, but it has yet to be implemented. The Federal Reserve, which is in charge of the country's monetary policy, has not hiked interest rates, which would assist to keep inflation in check. It's rumored that they'll do it next month.

So whose fault is this? Well, it's not really anyone's fault.

However, neither the government nor the private sector have improved the situation, and inflation and shortages are rapidly becoming an issue for our president. As daily life grows more difficult and expensive for all of us.

The good news is that this will most likely pass. In the meantime, companies that can navigate this mess and provide us the goods we need at a reasonable price, while politicians who fail to move promptly risk losing big in our upcoming elections, when they are blamed for this impossible situation.

Have you noticed a huge increase in prices? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
