Movie theaters are closing one by one as a result of the rise of streaming providers and the pandemic

According to a Quorum research, 49 percent of those who went to the movies before the pandemic haven't returned. What is the reason for this? According to The Number, a movie data site, movie theater ticket prices have doubled since 1996. Today, a movie ticket can cost anywhere from $9 to $22. People are discovering that seeing the movie from the comfort of their own homes on a streaming service they already pay for is less expensive.

Each streaming platforms give us access to millions of movies, including brand new releases that are also in movie theaters. So with all of these changes, will you still be able to go see a movie in theaters if you want to? That is up to the consumer when you see a movie at the theater.

The only motivation is the experience, which is only getting more expensive, and with a single movie ticket costing more than a monthly Netflix or Hulu membership in many cities, making the experience seem worthwhile is becoming increasingly difficult.

Do you think movie theaters are a thing of the past? Are you frustrated with the rising cost of movie tickets? Let us know in the comments below.
