The government has declared that it will practically double the size of its crypto assets and cyber unit to 50 personnel.
So, why are there so many extra hires? Believe it or not, the government has stated that it is now their responsibility to protect people's cryptocurrency assets. Over the last few years, crypto scammers have stolen billions of dollars. The new personnel would be tasked with tracking down scammers and ensuring that marketplaces are safer.
Some argue that cryptocurrency should be unregulated. In this case, government assistance may be able to secure people's investments while also making crypto markets appear more trustworthy and genuine.
This new organization would focus on protecting decentralized finance platforms like the metaverse, in addition to crypto markets, NFTs, and crypto loans. Cryptocurrency markets are a trillion-dollar industry, and the metaverse will someday reach that level of value.
Regulations that safeguard investors may make the crypto world appear less risky and more like an investment.
