Hey there, boomer! It's not just amusing; it's also quite depressing. Baby boomers own everything, and they're supposed to hand it over to our generation, but that's not happening.
Younger individuals, like Millennials or Gen Zers, are doing miserably. They don't have any property. And now everything is extremely expensive.
Purchasing a home in a large city? Being compensated fairly? Retirement? Everything isn't looking well. Even though the average boomer is worth ten times that of a millennial, it isn't enough.
We live in a world where we must pay for their healthcare and social security through taxes, and Millennials and Gen Zers are unlikely to receive those benefits.
Our politics are run by people who should probably be in an old people's home, but instead are running up a massive national debt that they'll never have to worry about since they'll be dead.
Meanwhile, getting by for Millennials and Gen Zers entails having little to no money left over after paying for healthcare, education, and housing. A reminder that many of those products were much less expensive when the baby boomers were growing up. We paid a high price because of their poor decisions.
Young people are always perceived as weak. Perhaps it's time for folks from past generations to put themselves in our shoes for a while. Hard work isn't paying off for many of us, and it's past time for older people to recognize the catastrophic effects of their generation's poor decisions.
