Millions will continue to leave their positions in the coming year. PWC conducted a survey in 44 countries and discovered that one out of every five people plans to change employment within a year.
In addition, 33% of respondents say they'll ask for a raise, with tech and healthcare workers being the most likely to demand a raise or change jobs.
There's also a generational divide: Gen Z workers are twice as likely as Baby Boomers to be unhappy at work. This is motivated by Gen Z's dread of being displaced by technology and the realization that money isn't everything.
Nearly 70% of people indicated they would change occupations for more fulfillment, which is approximately the same number who said they would leave their job for a raise.
Is now a good time to change careers? Some argue that it is not a wise choice right now because a recession may occur later this year. Companies lay off millions of people when there is economic uncertainty, and if you're new at another company, you can be the first to go.
