According to the government, the inflation rate is around 9%. But for millions of Americans, that figure isn't high enough.
Now let's look at the must-have items that are costing Americans the most money.
You go to the grocery store and buy meat, poultry, fish, or eggs unless you're a vegan. But during the past year, they have all increased by roughly 14%.
Homes: You likely need a somewhere to call home, and guess what? Your wallet is being ruined by housing.
Rent has grown as a result of the average property price increase of nearly 20%. In fact, during the last two years, rent has increased by 58 percent in areas like Miami.
Cars. The majority of Americans drive their cars everywhere, but used car prices have increased by 40%. While the all-time high for the cost of a new car is $47,000.
Road trips and vacations. Gas prices have increased by 55%.
Flying. The cost of a plane ticket has increased by 37%.
Hotels have increased by about 33%.
Life is expensive right now, so get used to it, according to experts, who unfortunately predict that inflation will continue.
