This computer chip was created by researchers in Xanadu, Toronto, and it significantly outperformed the fastest computers in tackling a challenging sampling issue.
Their quantum chip, Borealis, reportedly solved this seemingly insurmountable problem in three millionths of a second, according to the research they posted on the website Nature.
Borealis is only the most recent in a line of incredibly inventive quantum computer chips that have been dramatically outperforming most machines in terms of speed and complexity over the past ten years.
Even though this is a remarkably great accomplishment, you might be wondering how it relates to you.
We can address problems with quantum computing. The typical individual will soon be able to benefit from them, even if we are still a long way from owning them as a consumer good.
