Recently, it seems like everyone is interested in NFTs, and toy companies are no exception.
Mattel, a well-known toy company, recently partnered with Cryptoys to develop its own line of NFTs, which will feature recognizable brands like Barbie and Hot Wheels.
A play-to-earn NFT game hosting website called Cryptoys is creating the first "digital first and NFT-native" toy company.
There are other childhood brands in the online world besides Mattel.
Recently, Nickelodeon released their inaugural NFTs, which included some of our favorite 90s icons, including Hey Arnold and the Rugrats. 10,000 packs of NFTs were released by Nickelodeon in collaboration with RECUR on Nickelodeon.xyz, the Paramount-branded NFT marketplace.
We grew up enjoying NFT platforms, and by focusing on brands, they are appealing to our nostalgia.
Younger players find it simpler to get their first pack thanks to these play-to-earn NFT games' lower entry barrier to the market. These NFTs have not, however, won over everyone.
They have received a lot of negative feedback online from people who believe the businesses are exploiting their treasured childhood memories.
