Since its high in late 2021, the cryptocurrency market has lost more than $2 trillion.
But if cryptocurrency were like Wall Street, would the government be rescuing it?
Young millennials and Gen Z may recall hearing their parents discuss how the government bailed out banks in 2008 during the Great Recession with our tax dollars.
And older millennials like me recall experiencing it firsthand and struggling to find work.
Prior to the government bailout, both the housing and stock markets plummeted.
For cryptocurrency, the promised government bailout never materialized, the market is still developing, and many millennials have lost a significant amount of money quickly.
Additionally, it appears that the government is uninterested in effectively regulating a market where millennials have invested their life savings.
