The NFL is entering the world of streaming.
NFL+, a subscription service that provides live games for consumers on their smartphones and tablets, was just launched by the National Football League. Free games that were previously available through Verizon or Yahoo will no longer be available, and you won't be able to cast them on your TV either.
NFL+ is available to provide your mobile football viewing experience all season long.
So why would the NFL start a streaming service that is only available on mobile? Football is the most watched program on television at all times, although fewer people are watching games on cable or satellite as they once did.
By the end of 2022, 55% of Americans will cut the cord, and the NFL wants to make sure they get a share of the money generated by their consumer base switching to digital.
