The FBI recently conducted a dangerous home raid on President Trump, a former president who also happens to be the most likely opponent of the incumbent president in 2024.
In the history of our country, this has never happened before. Now, there must be a strong reason for the FBI to do this, given that President Biden ultimately controls it, right?
Because the warrant allowing the raid on Trump's home is still sealed, we don't know the answer to that.
That the American people are being kept in the dark about this is despicable.
According to media sources, what is currently known is that the raid on Trump's house was probably due to a possible document handling error.
But that doesn't really make sense because the government has two simple options for getting the documents it needs from Trump: they can bargain with his lawyers or obtain them via subpoena.
Now, unless there was a more sinister motive at work, no normally functioning president would ever permit the FBI to perform such a serious crime only to recover documents. Perhaps, they are using the intelligence services as a weapon to stop Trump from running for president again.
If so, then America has now entered one of the most dangerous situations there is no coming back from.
In authoritarian countries and corrupt third-world regimes, using intelligence services to target political opponents is commonplace, but not in the United States of America.
And generally speaking, you want to extend a benefit of the doubt to the present presidential administration. It's challenging, though, given Biden and his administration have consistently lied about a wide range of topics, including the economy, inflation, vaccine efficacy, gas prices, the crisis on the southern border, and a million other things.
It's also difficult to give the FBI the benefit of the doubt after they supported the Russia collusion hoax and improperly spied on members of the Trump administration using material that they knew to be fake.
This is the same FBI that was exposed a few months ago for spying on parents who spoke up at school board meetings using counterterrorism techniques.
Hillary Clinton committed at least 110 violations under the Espionage Act, yet the same FBI chose not to charge her.
And this is the same FBI that, despite having access to Hunter Biden's laptop, which has direct evidence of dozens upon dozens of crimes committed by the president's son, has not brought any charges against him.
And what's even more concerning is that this is the same FBI that recently came under fire from whistleblowers for allegedly concealing evidence of Hunter Biden's crimes under the false pretense of Russian disinformation.
I hope for the sake of this country that this extraordinary action to use the FBI to go after president Trump has a solid basis.
But everything we have seen so far suggests something more nefarious may be going on
