People are vacationing around the US in greater numbers than before.
Flying outside of the country has become extremely challenging due to shortages, the pandemic, and inflation.
Due to this, small towns have become popular tourist destinations. Here are five small-town getaways in different parts of the US.
One: Cape May, a little beach hamlet on New Jersey's southernmost point, is regarded as the country's first coastal resort.
It has calm beaches, dock-lined boardwalks, and whale watching.
Two the cowboy capital of the world is Bandera, Texas.
This tiny town of 671 residents has plenty of farms and horseback riding routes to help you unleash your inner cowboy or cowgirl.
Three: The Nascar race is not the only event held in Watkins Glen, New York.
There are many vineyards and hiking paths there. Given that it is situated on Seneca Lake, one of my favorite finger lakes, you can also find a waterfront B&B there.
Four: Polebridge, Montana is an excellent place to camp if you want to disconnect for a time.
However, take into account that there is no electricity.
Around the nearby lakes, there is a ton of hiking, canoeing, and bicycling, as well as breathtaking natural scenery.
Five: Gatlinburg, Tennessee is right at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Complete with zip lines, an amusement park, and a bunch of cool shops, and of course enjoy the views from the top of the Gatlinburg Space Needle.
