Although inflation is finally slowing down, neither rent nor food prices are decreasing. And a housing crisis is developing across America, with young people being the hardest hit.
Yes, inflation is slowing down, but let's focus on the important issues.
The cost of feeding yourself and maintaining a roof over your head has not decreased.
At the grocery store, housing, and elsewhere, inflation remains quite high. And a significant part of millennials and Gen Z rent their houses, and when they renew their leases, they see ludicrous resets.
Many of my friends are moving and worrying about increases of more than 30%.
Gas prices are decreasing, which is better news. They are noticeably better, but not where they were.
Additionally, airfares have decreased by more than 8% during the past month from their previously absurdly high levels.
At least for the time being, the job market is also strong.
We need all the money we can get our hands on in this economy when everything is pricey, so hopefully it stays that way.
