Crime has risen in cities across the country. Homicides are up by roughly 40% on average in several of our largest cities, and 80% of Americans are now concerned about crime.
So, what is the root of all of this?
Many of these crimes are committed in progressive cities, which have campaigned for police budget cuts, eliminated cash bail, and elected far-left district attorneys who refuse to pursue thousands of crimes each year.
Of course, those like George Soros, who advocate for these damaging policies and support pro-criminal district attorneys, are absolutely immune from the consequences of their actions.
They live in gated communities, have armed bodyguards, and never use public transportation.
Only the poor, middle-class, and working-class families are affected.
But there are certain places that are taking a drastically different strategy.
While homicide and crime rates in Democrat-controlled cities such as Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Baltimore continue to rise.
Cities like Miami are safer than they have ever been. Instead of defunding the police, Miami's Republican mayor, Francis Suarez, has invested extensively in law enforcement and public safety.
As a result, homicides in Miami are currently at an all-time low, while tax revenues to the city have more than doubled as a result of so many individuals moving and investing in Miami from crime-ridden, progressive towns.
Meanwhile, in Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis recently removed a Soros-backed district attorney who declined to prosecute several criminal acts.
It's no surprise, then, that California, a state dominated by anti-crime, progressive leaders, has lost nearly 400,000 citizens in the last year alone, while Florida has gained nearly a quarter million.
