No one is seeing the audience numbers they had before the pandemic, from concert venues to Broadway performances to amusement parks, but everyone is still trying to find ways to make ends meet.
Despite stars such as Hugh Jackman, Patti LuPone, and Daniel Craig, Broadway attendance is declining. According to the New York Times, the number of people attending events in 2022 will be half that of 2019.
To increase participation, Broadway is bringing back New York City Broadway Week, where tickets to a variety of performances will be two for the price of one, and the event will continue for the majority of September rather than just a week.
Disney, on the other hand, is boosting theme park admission costs across the board. Prices for entry, food, drink, and goods at Disney have risen.
Those iconic Mickey Mouse headbands, which used to cost $10, will now set you $39 99.
These price increases are in part due to more people returning to the park during the pandemic, as well as to make up for money lost while visitation dropped over the last several years.
