Why is health care so expensive? America has some of the craziest, most expensive health care in the world, and getting sick causes more bankruptcies than nearly anything else. And medical billing is as confusing as it is scammy. Medical debt is so common in America that credit rating agencies don't even take it seriously anymore.

And getting insurance is a nightmare if you don't have a good job that pays for it. The average family's insurance cost is over $1,100 a month, and that cost doesn't include co-pays, deductibles, and other costs that just mean more cash. Millions of people skip care in the end because they can't afford it.

Our system doesn't make any sense as we have neither national health care nor free market system, National Healthcare would minimally cover everyone with basic health care. Alternatively, a free market health care system would be much cheaper as competition would bring down prices. Instead, we have a silly Frankenstein system that's expensive and monopolistic and allows cartels to control medical care prices.

Subsidies skew the market, so if you're poor, old, or gainfully employed, you're usually covered at a low cost. If not, good luck getting sick. Healthcare in America is completely out of control. And we're going to have to think outside of the box and reinvent our system.
