Young people all over the world, particularly in the wealthier nations, are not having babies, and it's leading to massive economic problems since young people are needed to create the jobs and pay the taxes that provide for the services that the elderly rely on.
In the United States, for example, Social Security was set up during a time when there were 42 people working for every one retiree. Today, there are only three people working for every one retiree. So, what's going to happen when there's, let's say, two retirees taking out social security payments for every one person working?
Well, you're looking at a total economic collapse. Still, America has way better than just about every other rich country in the world. China, for example, is going to see its population cut in half by 2050 as a result of their insane one-child policy.
For countries like Japan, South Korea, Greece and Italy, close to half of their populations are going to be over 65 in the coming decades. So unless some technology comes out, out of nowhere, that will make everyone richer and make up for the trillions in tax revenue that governments will no longer receive from their citizens, the world is headed for an economic disaster.
