as posted by the channelPush notifications are completely out of control. It's estimated most of us get more than 50 a day on our phones. Notifications have taken over our digital existence. A recent article in The Atlantic pointed out that there's zero regulation of push notifications.
So, the government regulates junk mail but not push notifications. Curious, isn't it? Now, we all have to opt-in to accept notifications. But once we do, it's a blanket "yes" to everything.
And it's sad because sometimes we do want to be notified, but most apps abuse their privileges until we shut them off. And that's a world we live in; getting spammed to death by any means necessary.
