as posted by the channelA new Netflix show on Cleopatra is officially the lowest-rated series in Rotten Tomatoes history, as Hollywood once again fails to get the message that no one wants to watch their woke garbage.
In addition to being god awful, this new Cleopatra show, produced by Jada Pinkett-Smith, has annoyed many due to its historical inaccuracies, and its decision to cast a black actress as Cleopatra.
Even members of the Egyptian government took issue with that, blasting the series for, quote, "falsifying Egyptian history." Cleopatra, of course, was a Greek Macedonian, she was not black, but you might ask, okay, still, why does it matter to people if a black actress plays Cleopatra?
Well, a couple things. First, it highlights the absurd double standard applied by the woke left to everyone else. The same people who scream about cultural appropriation are more eager than anyone else to rewrite history and race-swap any and every historical figure when it suits them.
Second, facts actually do matter. Just because Hollywood played fast and loose with the truth in the past doesn't mean they must continue to lie now. The goal should be to strive for accuracy. I love Idris Elba, for example, but you can't cast him in Schindler's List.
Similarly, no one could ever take seriously a movie about Martin Luther King Jr., played by Ryan Gosling. It would be insulting and insane. Today, there's more people than ever before, who are hungry for quality content that not only entertains them but also inspires them or maybe even teaches them something valuable.
That sort of content exists today. But it's definitely not coming from Hollywood.
