as posted by the channelA 6yr old in Virginia shoots his teacher but it was not fatal. The age at which children are exposed to violence is getting younger and younger.
Stories like these are more prevalent than ever in the news and we need to get them out of the headlines and into our living rooms, where we can discuss how children respond to events like these, manifest shock and anger, process emotions, and identify feelings vs. actions. The only way to prevent tragedies like this is by having open conversations with our children. We need to teach them how to express emotions in a healthy way, instead of suppressing them or acting out.
We have a young guest and hopefully, she will be able to speak on behalf of the children.
