Chris Rock Responds To Will Smith Slap | 2 Strong

If you remember nothing else about last year's Oscars, you undoubtedly recall actor Will Smith slapping comedian Chris Rock on stage after the latter made disparaging remarks about the former's wife. Later that evening, Smith apologized to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as well as other nominees—though not Rock. The next day he utilized social media to issue an apology directly to Rock.

For nearly a year following the incident, Rock did not address it publicly. Last week he briefly mentioned it during a comedy routine in Boston. Then, last Saturday night, he performed a live comedy special on Netflix in which he spoke at length about last year’s Oscars. He is also known for his willingness to take on controversial topics and speak openly about them, even if it means being divisive or controversial. This makes him an influential figure in popular culture; however, there is a fine line between humor and offense. So do you think his response was appropriate or did he go too far?
