Cardi B has now been pulled into the Karmelo Anthony conversation after speaking out about the verdict and calling the outcome disgusting. That alone set the internet on fire. Some people agree with her, some people say she is being reckless, and others believe she is saying what a lot of people are afraid to say publicly.

But now let’s add another name to the conversation: Chud The Builder.

Chud The Builder, also known as Dalton Eatherly, reportedly raised around $300,000 online after being charged in a serious shooting case. His fundraiser appears to still be up, while Karmelo Anthony’s GiveSendGo fundraiser was shut down after he was convicted and sentenced.

So tonight we are asking the real question:

Is this about justice, due process, and legal defense?

Or is this about who America thinks deserves sympathy?

To be fair, there is a difference. Karmelo Anthony has been convicted and sentenced. Chud The Builder has been charged but not convicted. That difference matters. Also, if Karmelo’s fundraiser was originally for pre-trial legal fees, then it makes sense why GiveSendGo would close that specific fundraiser after the trial ended.

But the bigger issue is this: people were angry about Karmelo’s fundraiser even before the verdict came in. Meanwhile, other controversial defendants can raise money and people call it due process.

So where is the line?

Tonight we are breaking down Cardi B’s comments, Karmelo Anthony’s fundraiser being shut down, Chud The Builder’s online donations, the racial double standard, and why people choose who gets compassion and who gets condemned.

This is not about defending anyone’s actions. This is about asking whether the public applies the same rules to everybody.
