Fort Laurens 2017 "Revolution on the Tuscarawas" Saturday Battle

This is the first battle of the "Revolution on the Tuscarawas" weekend at the Fort Laurens museum in Ohio. While a bit smaller than east coast events, it's easily one of my favorites. There was great turnout this year, good crowds, and plenty of excellent conversations and questions from spectators.

I was with the 23rd Regiment of Foot, the Royal Welch Fusiliers (rwfia.org) which was able to field three members both days of the event. We advance with the other Regulars alongside our fearless light infantrymen against a vastly (numerically) superior rebel force.

This reenactment does not act to recreate any particular engagement of the American War of Independence. The uniforms depicted by my regiment, and others, are not what would have featured at the actual siege of the fort, nor were any cannon involved. This is purely intended as a "tactical weapons demonstration" for the education and benefit of the crowd. We do what we can, with so few soldiers in the field! -
