This is the first time our Corporal took men into the field! I think he did a fantastic job. In this skirmish, some men of the 54th, and a few from other regiments, joined to form a small light detachment. We kept a single line and moved rapidly against the enemy militia, kneeling and firing at will. It did not take long to drive the foe from the hill and secure the position!
This is the skirmish from the first day of Old Sturbridge Village's Redcoats and Rebels event.
