In a previous video, I discussed why trenches weren't always employed by 18th century armies, which instead frequently enagaged one another in open field in a far more fluid manner. Still, the question remains, when trenches *were* being used- how were they used? In this video, I discuss some of the basic techniques behind constructing trenches in the early modern era, as well as the methods by which they would be defended and attacked.
