I think it is interesting that this young girl was charged with a felony for making gestures with a finger gun, but if she had actually come to the school with a gun, it would have simply been a misdemeanor.
The intent is key here. Clearly, if she came to the school with the intent to harm people with a weapon, then it would be different. however, I find it sort of strange that a non-violent act can land you a felony at 13, but actively bringing a weapon to school, aint as serious.
Sounds like SJW kneejerk reactions to me. Legislation that makes no sense, but it makes people feel good.
