Every few weeks, we see a new sensationalist corporate media headline about “Chinese espionage,” or “Chinese agents” infiltrating the U.S. and sharing information with the Chinese government. This week, Amanda and KJ are joined by retired judge and co-founder of Pivot to Peace Julie Tang to discuss these new Red Scare witch hunts, the tools the U.S. government uses to conduct these persecution campaigns such as the Foreign Agents Registration Act and the China Initiative — and how these programs ramp up anti-Asian hate against regular Asian Americans in the U.S.
