BT spoke with supporters gathered outside the Florida prison to celebrate the hard-won victory after decades of a global campaign for his freedom.
Peltier told the NDN Collective: “I am finally going home. I look forward to seeing my friends, my family, and my community. It’s a good day today.”
Framed by the FBI for murder, he will serve the rest of his sentence in home confinement in North Dakota.
