0:35Now PlayingLast night the police at UCLA charged into students with batons in hand, arresting several, for attempting a public screening of “The Encampments” documentary on the one-year anniversary of the UCLA encampment.
“On behalf of BreakThrough News, we condemn this grotesque violation of student rights, which is part of the escalating criminalization of free speech activities in support of Palestine,” said Ben Becker, BT Editor-in-Chief and Executive Producer of the film. “Apparently the truth is dangerous. The film shows how universities trampled on student rights to protect the US-Israeli war machine. Now they’re repressing the film about the repression, which just proves the point. We encourage student groups to continue to show the film wherever they can.”
