Hundreds of workers in Rio de Janeiro took the streets on Monday to protest Brazil’s “6-1” work system, which allows one day of rest for six working days.
The protestors demanded the work week to be reduced from 44 to 40 hours without any loss of pay, with the demonstrations preceding a key vote on a constitutional amendment to replace the existing work schedule with one of two days of rest for five days of work.
