Tehran-based journalist Navid Zarrinnal joined BT Live from the ground in Iran, where he says despite Iran’s clear victory reactions are mixed to news Thursday of Trump and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian both signing the Memorandum of Understanding ending the war. Skepticism that the deal will hold makes sense given the US-Israeli track record, but Iran now has leverage to hold Trump and Netanyahu accountable. The MoU adds widespread sanctions relief and (effectively) a war reparations fund, in addition to reopening the Strait of Hormuz to Iranian profit.
