Bret and Heather 70th DarkHorse Podcast Livestream: Loose The Seuss

In this 70th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we discuss the state of the world through an evolutionary lens. In this episode, we celebrate Dr. Seuss. Beginning with a poem written by Dr. Weinsteinium himself (“Let Loose the Seuss”), we discuss some of Seuss’s many contributions, then discuss modern attempts to silence him. Some of the lessons that Seuss taught to anyone who would listen include: the value of compromise, and the problems with simple rubrics; embracing who you are; not going along with the crowd, and rejecting simple phenotypic markers as indicative of the value of a person; being anti-war, anti-fascist (actually anti-fascist!), and anti-utopian; the value of reaching beyond your own pre-existing beliefs and biases; recognizing that we are not the only beings on this planet; the wonders of childhood.
