Hasan Wore Thirteen Hundred Dollar Glasses to Fight Capitalism

Bridget breaks down the Code Pink-organized trip to Havana that sent a charter plane full of influencers, streamers, and activists to Cuba — including millionaire Twitch streamer Hasan Piker and Ilhan Omar's daughter. The group stayed at a five-star hotel with working electricity while the rest of Cuba dealt with blackouts, drove around on poverty tours making kids dance for cookies, threw a rave, painted a mural, and went to a drag show. Irish band Kneecap played a concert that may have strained Cuba's already shattered power grid. Piker, who wore $1,300 glasses and a $700 shirt, complained about bad internet and the heat on camera — inadvertently delivering the most honest critique of Cuban communism anyone could have asked for. The complete lack of self-awareness was beyond parody, and even the communists who stayed home found a way to make it worse.
