Donald Trump Prepared to Push 170,000+ Americans to Homelessness! #shorts

The Trump Administration's Department of Housing and Urban Development announced a policy change last month, modifying the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Continuum of Care Program, which is the largest source of federal funding for local communities to fight homelessness. Experts warn that at least 170,000 people are now at risk of being pushed to homelessness because of these policy choices, and fear what is to come in the early months of 2026 with this last-minute budget change. Here, I speak with Ann Oliva, CEO of the National Alliance to End Homelessness, about the impact:

"Unfortunately, cutting back on permanent housing, at the level that they're talking about, going from 87% to 30% of a pretty big program, will in fact make people homeless. There is no doubt in my mind about that because these are folks who have already overcome homelessness, who are permanently, stably housed, who will lose those supports, and that is really the saddest part of this whole story." - Ann Oliva, CEO of the National Alliance to End Homelessness
