26:30Now PlayingBrittany Page is joined in conversation by Nicole Lynn Lewis, author of the new book, "Student Parent: The Fight for Families, The Cost of Poverty, and the Power of College." Nicole is the Founder & CEO of Generation Hope, a nonprofit organization that provides teen parents with the support they need to finish college. Together, they discuss myths about people living in poverty, public policy that can eliminate poverty and help people lead the lives they want to live, the importance of education for future success, and helping people find compassion instead of relying on American mythology that tells us people in poverty simply need to try harder or make better choices.
