I've Become Politically Obsessed... HELP!
In my Facebook group, I received the following question, which I thought it would be great to address:
"I've had some time off work and some time to reflect this year and there's been one thing that I have really struggled with this year above all else that has seriously cut into my time. Now I know John Sonmez doesn't want anything political to be posted on here and I've completely avoided it so far.
However, for those of you who know the UK has been completely absorbed by Brexit and now Trump. My problem is I'm basically addicted to reading about, commenting on and talking about politics. My big problem is that if I don't talk about it or find some outlet for talking about it it just stews and my social conscience eats away at me.
Now I absolutely don't want to talk about politics here and everyone is entitled to their opinion right or wrong. I know that John's advice is basically just ignore politics and news and Tim Ferriss even recommends only reading a newspaper once a week but frankly I find that virtually impossible in this day and age.
Does anyone have any effective coping strategies for this?
What I believe I need to reduce the distraction is an outlet like a political blog where I can share my world view. I do enjoy politics and economics and especially Brexit fascinates me because it's one of the greatest political upheavals for decades so keeping my toe in I would like to do.
However, I don't want this to be a distraction from what I'm doing with my job and business.
Kind of stuck in a rock and a hard place mentally. Does anyone have experience or advice?"
So... How to overcome this political addiction? Watch this video and find out!
