Although we'd like to believe that we've moved beyond racism, intolerance, and other forms of bigotry in the workplace, the truth is we haven't. It still exists. It's still a problem.
It likely always will be.
I don't mean this to paint a glum picture of the software development world. There are more good, honest, non-prejudiced software developers and managers out there than there are bad ones.
For the most part, we live in a time of opportunity-for all people-like never before.
The world, in general, is more accepting of different cultures, races, religions, sexes, and just about anything else you can think of than ever before.
But… there are still problems.
