External validation is something we are all seeking at some point in our lives... Whether we are conscious or unconscious of it. As human beings, we have a big need for validation, usually searching in others what we should have in ourselves.
Does it look familiar to you?
At the bottom line, when we search for external validation we are actually looking for validation in other people, we start relying on other people to validate ourselves. It just shows how we lack self love, self esteem and how we need to start building confidence in ourselves.
What most people don't actually know is how external validation can destroy you.
When you start looking too much on the outside, you stop relying on what really matters: yourself.
I tend to say that we all need to follow a path in our lives but, once we start relying to much on other people to tell us what's wrong or not, we lose sight of what really matters to us.
