When I was a traditional Catholic, I was taught exactly what atheism was supposed to be: lonely, meaningless, directionless, and ultimately incapable of providing a fulfilling life. Then I became an atheist myself.
In this episode, I reflect on my journey from devout Catholicism to atheism and explain why I don't actually think atheism is a worldview at all. I talk about losing my faith, losing my community, searching for meaning, running ultramarathons, and eventually discovering that atheism wasn't a replacement for religion.
