Pencil condenser mics, and the Oktava MK 012 is probably the best microphone in it's class for the price. Also called small diaphragm condenser mics, they don't reject from the sides like a shotgun mic does, which cuts down on the phase effect resulting in the room echo sound. I'm super impressed!
