It will cover those responsible for the 2015 ‘Charlie Hebdo’ terrorist attacks in which twelve people were killed by the brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi over the journal’s decision to publish the ‘Muhammad cartoons’ (images deemed offensive by some). The brothers were in turn killed by French police and it is their accomplices who will stand trial.

The decision by the French satirical magazine to recirculate cartoons about the Prophet Muhammad and Islam coincides with the start of a long-awaited trial for the attack that killed 11 of its staff. Paris More than five years after the deadly attack on the Paris offices of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, 14 people went on trial Wednesday for their part in helping the three attackers, who were all killed by police. On January 7, 2015, brothers Saïd and Chérif Kouachi entered the newspaper's offices and killed 11 people, including 8 editorial staffers.
