YouTube Description

as posted by the channel

A medical helicopter crashed onto Highway 50 in Sacramento, California, critically injuring all three crew members — a pilot, flight nurse, and paramedic.

In this video, Captain Steeeve breaks down what happened, what we know so far about the REACH Air Medical Services flight, and what likely caused this tragic accident. He also explains how motorists and first responders worked together to save the trapped crew after the helicopter went down.

This was a REACH Air Medical helicopter responding to or returning from a mission when it suffered a catastrophic failure mid-flight, coming down in traffic but — remarkably — without hitting any cars or civilians on the ground.

Captain Steeeve discusses how medical helicopter operations differ from standard commercial flights, the challenges of low-altitude emergency flying, and how crews are trained to handle engine failures and autorotations under pressure.

We’re keeping the crew — Pilot Chad Millward, Paramedic Margaret “DeDe” Davis, and Nurse Susan “Suzie” Smith — in our thoughts and prayers as they continue to recover.
