I also want to mention how my thinking on Unsatisfiable Pair was shaped by conversations with Alex Pruss, Josh Rasmussen, and Rob Koons. Alex pressed on me the utter absurdity of some arrangements of activation times being okay while others weren't (when the only thing that's changing is how the clocks are set). Josh pressed the recombination principle route (see here). Rob pointed out how Unsatisfiable Pair and Causal Finitism are not actually at odds (indeed, causal finitists have been pointing out the logical inconsistency of Benardette scenarios since the beginning). What I've produced here is a kind of synthesis of their views in a way that is both concise and convincing (to me).
