as posted by the channel

The Alberta government has invoked the notwithstanding clause to protect three new laws from any constitutional challenges. Debate in the legislature went through the night as the UCP bill passed final reading. The clause shields legislation on school pronouns, a ban on transgender girls in female sports and restrictions on gender-affirming care. The government previously invoked the notwithstanding clause in connection with legislation to end the teachers' contract dispute.
