The Manitou Asinîy, originally found in central Alberta, was taken by missionaries in the 1800s and later displayed in museums. Indigenous leaders and the federal government have signed a memorandum of understanding to relocate the stone to a permanent, culturally appropriate facility. The CBC’s Sam Brooks was at the announcement.
