In 1981, Nova Scotia placed a moratorium on uranium. No exploration, no mining: the only province in Canada with such a ban, but would it last? In the 2000s, uranium prices were soaring. Mining companies were staking their claims, and opponents who feared the spread of radioactive waste, were once again lining up to keep the ban in place. Host Tom Murphy explains the long-standing debate in this Land & Sea episode from Apr. 13, 2008.
