While on assignment covering Canada’s war in Iraq, fifth estate cinematographer John Badcock reflects on the day-to-day life and the resiliency of children in a massive refugee camp. Fleeing a bloody civil war in neighbouring Syria, at least 10,000 people – half of them children – have made the Kawergosk refugee camp into a permanent home near Erbil in northern Iraq. Badcock, filming the fifth estate’s Hidden War documentary, takes us behind the scenes at what he saw -- and how he filmed it.
