18:36Now PlayingBack in 1979, the fifth estate aired Powder Keg, which revealed the health risks of an aluminum powder that mining companies were spraying into the lungs of tens of thousands miners. It was claimed to help fight the deadly dust from gold and uranium mining that caused silicosis. Within months of our report, the practice was stopped. But now the daughter of one ailing miner is on a quest for answers about the powder and what it may have done to the miners it was supposed to have saved.
