Fire at Jewish-owned grocery store to be investigated as hate-motivated | Power & Politics

Toronto police say its hate crime unit is investigating a fire at a Jewish-owned grocery store that was also spray-painted with the words 'Free Palestine.' Police have warned of a spike in hate crimes since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, with a little over half of those reported to be antisemitic. Jaime Kirzner-Roberts, the vice-president of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs in the Toronto area, discusses the rise in hate crimes in the region.
